11.03.16 - 2016 Lamborghini Huracan

When it comes to super sports cars there isn’t any name in the business that invokes the feeling of pure power and brash shape than a Lamborghini model. For 2016 this Huracan LP 610-4 adds a Spyder version to the mix and a new RWD model, the LP 580-2. This gives you a few different models to choose from when it comes to the Huracan and the ability to select the car that’s right for you on the road. Of course, the road isn’t where you’ll spend all your time in this car, you have to take it to the track to get the full driving experience.

Do you want a car that asks for attention and then garners it with power and brashness? If so, this is the car that’s right for you. The wedge shape and attitude of this car offers more aggression than anything else you’ll be on the road with. Of course if you want this car and feel you should be able to hide in a pack, you’ll have to find a track that’s filled with Lamborghini models to have that kind of anonymity, but if this was your goal you wouldn’t buy this car in the first place.

This car is seriously fast. The new Spyder version will still make use of the V10 power, as will the new RWD model. With the Spyder you can now have the wind blowing in your hair at 200 mph and enjoy the fun of a drive that’s pure speed and power combined. When you do drive this car around town you’ll love the Strada mode that offers light steering and a much less aggressive personality from the smooth gear changes that make the car one that’s balanced and enjoyable on the streets.

Now, let’s talk about power. This car has the power you want and still continues to use only a naturally aspirated engine. This engine does benefit from dual fuel injection that uses both direct and port style fuel injection, but does not have turbo or supercharging added at all. The engine is a 5.2-liter V10 that is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. For the RWD LP 580-2 model this means you have 573 horsepower and 398 lb.-ft. of torque while the AWD LP 610-4 model returns 602 horsepower and 412 lb.-ft. of torque giving you all the power you could want in this amazing car.

Of course, the Lamborghini Huracan isn’t a car you see on the street every single day. This car is expensive and starts out around $205,000 for the RWD model and moves up to $245,000 for the AWD version. The new Spyder adds more to the price to come in around $268,000 and the options list can see you paying easily around $300,000 or more. This is a car that gives you the ride you want to enjoy at the track and several choices for 2016 to make it a car that you can have the way you want it.

At these prices you wouldn’t expect the base model to be a bargain brand item, and it’s not. This version gives you carbon ceramic brakes, 20-inch wheels, full LED lighting, an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis, dual zone climate controls, Bluetooth connectivity, a four-speaker audio system, USB and iPhone integration and power operated seats. The options list will give you the ability to choose the AWD or Spyder models, a transparent engine cover, a custom color of your choosing, a navigation system, heated seats, a rearview camera, a lifting system for the front axle and much more.

One look at the Lamborghini Huracan and you understand aerodynamics even better than you ever have. This car shows up at 75 inches wide and 46 inches tall to make it a wide wedge that can cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. This width allows you to drive the car to the edge of insanity and still stay on course while the low ride height gives you the downforce you need and the air carving speed that will make a huge difference in the world of racing. The Huracan is certainly a car you want, but if you don’t buy it soon you might simply be left watching it pass on by.
