2014 Buick Enclave

The 2014 Buick Enclave is the largest vehicle offered by Buick for this model year and is a fantastic mid-sized SUV. Acting more like a sedan on the road, the Enclave offers comfort, modern technology, and a great performance of a luxury SUV without the massive price tag associated with luxury names like the Acura MDX and Audi Q7. Awarded as both a Kelley Blue Book 2014 Five Year Cost to Own Award Winner and making the list as one of the Ten Best Luxury Cars Under $40,000 for 2014, the Enclave certainly demands the attention of anyone looking to purchase a great SUV.

Onboard as new features for 2014 are the Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure System that warn a driver of a potential collision threat, as well as the IntellilLink Color Touch radio that include Sirius XM and dual charge-only ports in the rear center console. With these great features added to the Enclave along with the available seating for eight, decent fuel economy, the versatility to load it up with cargo, and the simply elegant stylings and its easy to see why the Enclave is such a fantastic vehicle to own.
Allowing drivers to experience a smooth and controlled ride the Enclave offers a highly tuned suspension and excellent steering. This allows the occupants to enjoy a highly responsive and smooth ride on virtually any road surface. Add to this the excellent engine performance that allows easy passing on the highway as well as a capability to maneuver through city traffic like a champion. The Enclave offers one of the quietest cabins in this class with outstanding noise reduction technology called Quiet Tuning that help to keep the road noised on the outside and the occupants able to listen to whatever musical choices they might have.

Buick pulled out all the stops when designing the engine for this grand SUV. By using the best in modern technology, the Enclave engine uses variable valve timing, direct fuel injection and an electronic throttle all on a 3.6-liter V6 engine that offers 288 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. When partnered with the six-speed transmission the Enclave will achieve 17 city/24 hwy mpg for the front-wheel drive (FWD) models and 16 city/22 hwy mpg for the all-wheel (AWD) versions. This gives any owner of the Enclave the enjoyment of plenty of power when needed, the added control when the AWD is chosen, and a nice amount of fuel mileage to enjoy not having to stop at the pump as much as the competition.

We’re shown by Indianapolis Buick that on the inside the cabin is warm, inviting, advanced, controlled, and simply elegant. With ice blue LED ambient lighting at night and comfortable seating for all passengers in the seats that are covered in high grade materials the vehicle is easy to fall in love with. Add the instrument panel with the IntelliLink touch screen display and controls that are all intuitively located and easy to use and the Enclave offers a great deal of comfort and style as well as upscale control. The third row seat is easily accessed with the slide flat and forward second row of seats to allow anyone to head to the very back of the vehicle. Plenty of cargo space can be found behind the third row to allow for a fully packed vacationing family to enjoy this great SUV.

From the outside the Enclave offers curb appeal as well as a menacing feel of a vehicle that is truly up to something. With the front of the vehicle adorned in the Buick signature waterfall grill and wrap around angled headlights the face smiles a knowing look as it tears up the blacktop. Add a bevy of chrome accents across the entire vehicle as well as the smooth and long lines and this is really one great looking SUV. Riding on multi-spoke inspired 18 to 20-inch wheels add the final touches of luxury along with the chrome trimmed roof rails and chrome exhaust tips. All of this makes the Enclave one seriously gorgeous and luxury inspired SUV that would make anyone proud to own it.

The Enclave can be chosen in three equipment levels and offers a great list of standard features for all to enjoy. This list includes 18-inch wheels, a power lift gate, power front seats, a rearview camera, parking assistance, IntelliLink communications, a Color Touch audio system with a seven-inch display, charge-only USB ports in the rear of the center console, and airbags that include three-row side curtain airbags, center side airbags that are all new additions to the Enclave. Even with just the standard features the Enclave offers a lot to love that just isn’t offered on much of its completion.

The optional equipment offered for the Enclave is grouped into packages which seem to be standard fare for almost all vehicles anymore. These options packages include Leather Group offer leather upholstery and heated front row seats. The Premium Group adds heated and cooled front seats, articulating headlights, the camera based Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning system and a Bose ten-speaker audio system. Other options available include a rear seat DVD entertainment system, eight-passenger seating, and a power sunroof. Add all of this to the Enclave truly becomes a luxury vehicle with all the gadgets and gizmos for anyone to really enjoy the ride.

Starting at the base model for the Enclave called the Convenience trim the price comes in just under $40,000 which is almost a steal considering all the standard features offered on a nearly luxury vehicle. All of the competition for this SUV comes in substantially higher at their starting price points. A fully loaded Enclave can fetch a price that reaches up over the $55,000 mark, but once again adds a ton of additional equipment for all to enjoy as they drive down the road. The Buick Enclave certainly offers the pride of the Buick name adorning this awesome SUV.
