Two versions of power plants are used for the RLX with much different power outputs and ability. The base engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that offers up a very nice 310 horsepower and 272 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is attached to a high performing six-speed automatic transmission in order to produce a fuel efficiency of 20 city/31 hwy mpg. This is the engine that is found on the front-wheel drive versions of the RLX.

For the higher model of the RLX which is the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) the engine is the same 3.5-liter V6 but adds the three hybrid motors. These motors are set up for two of them to push power to the rear wheels while the third uses the regenerative braking energy to push more power to the front wheels. This engine setup shows off 377 horsepower and 341 lb.-ft. of torque and is attached to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which helps it produce a fuel efficiency of 28 city/32 hwy mpg. With the increased power and fuel mileage this is the model those who can should choose and gain some great all wheel power to enjoy.

The high quality materials and dual-screen information screen help allow occupants know this car means business in the luxury market and aims to pamper and please those riding inside.
