11.09.16 - 2016 Honda CR-V

The best-selling compact crossover SUV on the market just got better. Bringing in the new 2017 model year meant the CR-V was due for a generational change and it really took the prize for new style, larger build and better mechanics. To go along with these new items, this SUV will now have more electronics and the look and feel that makes this already highly popular model on that will continue to be a best-seller for many more years. Let’s take a look at what’s new on the CR-V.

Engine – For the first time in its existence, the CR-V will have a turbocharged engine under the hood. This engine will be the 1.5-liter model that’s also found under the hood of the new Civic but for the CR-V this engine will have more power giving you 190 horsepower and 179 lb.-ft. of torque.

Familiar Transmission – The CR-V will use a CVT automatic transmission which is what we’ve come to expect for this SUV. This will help to increase the fuel mileage of the SUV and make it easier for the vehicle to perform the way you want it to. The fuel mileage is aided by better aerodynamics as well.

Longer – The wheelbase of the CR-V has grown to 105 inches to add nearly two inches to the overall size of this vehicle. This helps to increase the volume of the cabin and give you more space inside to let you have room to stretch out. This should give the CR-V the best in class interior space and rear seat legroom.

More Cargo – You can take more stuff with you in the cargo area that’s grown by a full nine inches to allow you the space you need. In this new model you also have a fully flat loading area when the rear seats are folded down to give you more space and the right kind of space to take with you what you need.

Upgraded Interior – The interior look and materials have been improved to give you a look and feel you want to enjoy. The cabin appears to be more luxurious than ever before with soft plastics and rich trim pieces that allow the vehicle to give you a comfortable and attractive place to enjoy the ride.

Larger Screen – The center stack is dominated by a seven-inch touchscreen display for the audio system in order to give you the connectivity you want. This infotainment system is aided by a large physical volume knob that makes it easier for you to control the sound levels in the CR-V.

Great Features – Depending upon the trim level chosen you can have remote starting, dual zone climate controls, heated side mirrors, an electric parking brake, rear USB ports, LED daytime running lights, a hands-free liftgate, lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams and much more.

The new CR-V will continue to be a sales leader and Honda has this vehicle ready for us to make our way to the dealers for purchase; are you ready to drive your new CR-V?
