First Impressions of the Kia EV9

Photos of the all-new 2024 Kia EV9 have been released, and they are just as appealing as the model’s highly anticipated debut in 2024. The EV9 sits right at home against the backdrop of majestic mountains and lush greenery in the released images, elements that are expected to define the performance of this all-new electric SUV.

With the ability to traverse even the roughest roads, this is a Kia SUV designed for drivers and families who love to explore. Before you make your way to your local Kia dealer, read on to see all that this beautifully designed SUV has to offer and how its electric powertrain is set to impress Kia enthusiasts, families, and adventure lovers alike.

Classically Kia with Electric Power You Want

Kia does a great job introducing a modern electric SUV that maintains its classic Kia appeal. Drivers can look forward to a body style that is not entirely new in concept. This is a nice change of pace as compared to many automakers that have completely altered their aesthetic style as they enter the electric landscape.

While the EV9 touts touches of change to meet modern styling, you’ll still see classic Kia elements including the Kia grill signage and modern body styling.

Room For the Whole Family

The Kia EV9 is a mid-size electric SUV that offers seating for up to seven passengers. Offering a roomier third-row seat and a more versatile second row, all passengers can climb on board and enjoy ample head and leg room for the journey ahead.

The Kia EV9 has a close resemblance to its popular three-row gas-powered Kia Telluride. The EV9 measures out to 197.4 inches in length and 77.9 inches in width. You’ll also notice a bit more ground clearance as all models of this EV tout 7.8 inches of ground clearance as well.

Power To Take You Further, Faster

While not much detail has been released about the EV9, there are some things Kia has confirmed. The EV9 will likely be built on the Electric Global Modular Platform of the smaller EV6, and drivers will have the option of two power trains.

Standard models will be outfitted with a 77.6-kWh battery that is paired with a 215-hp rear-mounted motor. Then there’s the optional upgrade to the 99.8-kWh battery that puts the 201 horsepower rear-drive long range at an impressive 300 miles of range on a single charge (according to the automaker). Within this larger battery, you can choose between a single-motor or dual-motor setup.

Intuitively Designed to Meet Modern Demands

When you step into the EV9, you’ll be met with a spaciously designed interior, an intuitively styled cabin, and an overall sleek and comfortable space. Kia takes a minimalistic approach in order to offer a lounge-like experience, and we’ve got to say, the automaker pulls it off nicely.

Drivers should expect the latest tech and safety features available, and will likely offer an equal if not heightened experience as compared to the comfortably designed Telluride and similarly styled competitors.

Ready to explore the Kia EV9 for yourself? You may need to hold off on heading to your local Kia dealer for now. Production of US models started in March 2024, with models being released later in 2024. This mid-sized electric SUV is set to have a starting MSPR at about $55,000 and topping out at $70,000.
