Get More Done with a Truck and Drive the Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Your sedan, hatchback, or small SUV isn’t going to get as much done as what you can accomplish if you drive the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
This truck has been called the “Heartbeat of America” in the past because it is the truck that’s used on farms, ranches, construction sites, and for heavy driving more than any other truck. Can this truck be the one you want to drive?

New Items Added to the Latest Version

One of the first things you want to know when you’re looking at a brand-new truck is the list of items that have been added. The Silverado is now offered with a Multi-Flex tailgate, has enhanced camera trailering features, brings you wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, improved towing capacity, and more active safety features on lower trims. These are all important items that can give you the capability you need in a great truck.

A Polarizing Feature You Might Not Find

When you choose your Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you might not see one of the features that has become a polarizing topic in the automotive industry. This feature is the start/stop feature for the engine. If the Silverado you drive was made after June 7, 2021 and is powered by either of the V8 engines and the ten-speed automatic transmission, it won’t have this feature included.

What Does the Start/Stop Feature Do?

The start/stop feature of modern engines turn off the engine when the truck is idling at a stoplight or stop sign. This has become a popular item in a couple of ways. Those drivers looking for the best fuel mileage love this feature because it means no gas is being used when idling. Drivers who don’t like the feeling of the engine stopping and then starting again are more likely very glad this feature isn’t being offered right now.

Why Did this Feature Go Away?

The semiconductor chip shortage that has hit the auto industry hard caused this feature to be the one that GM was able to delete from the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Thankfully, this truck is still being produced. GM has halted production of the Malibu and Camaro for now until enough chips are available again to make these cars.

Enjoy the Multi-Flex Tailgate

The Multi-Flex Tailgate is one of the new items for the Silverado 1500 and it can give you the right way to hold and carry cargo when you drive. This tailgate offers six different positions for you including a standing workstation and a step ladder to make it much easier for you to get to the cargo that’s found in the bed of your truck.

Make Use of the Remote Camera

One of the many cameras for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a remote camera. You can place this camera on the rear of the trailer you pull and see what’s going on behind you or place it in the trailer and know that items in the trailer are safe. This can be useful if you have to pull livestock with you when you drive your truck on the road.

Five Engines Are Offered for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The most important aspects of selecting the right version of this truck will include price, cab configuration, bed length, and powertrain. The Silverado can be had with five different engines and three transmissions to give you the build you want and excellent power during your drive.
The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 offered only with the six-speed automatic transmission to give you 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque. The next engine on the list is a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder model that mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission to give you 310 horsepower and 348 lb.-ft. of torque for your drive.
The 5.3-liter V8 engine makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the only engine that can be had with either the six, eight, or ten-speed automatic transmission for your drive. You’ll also see a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque while using a ten-speed automatic transmission along with a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel six-cylinder engine that offers 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.
All powertrains can be had in RWD or 4WD to give you the power where you need it. The most powerful engine can pull 13,300 pounds for you while the diesel can give you 9,500 pounds of towing capacity.
Find your Chevrolet Silverado 1500 today and ask about the production date to understand whether or not you will have the start/stop feature in the truck that helps you get work done every day.
