Giulia: Inflation in a Single Year

Giulia Inflation in a Single Year

We know items are more expensive than they have ever been. We’ve all heard the stories told by our grandparents of being able to spend a dollar in the store and purchase a full meal and have a little bit left over for some candy on the way out of the store. While you can’t buy much for a single dollar any longer, it seems that an inflation of $1,500 would be a bit steep for a single model year difference in a vehicle, no matter which vehicle that happens to be.

The Inflator

As Alfa Romeo finds a way to capture our attention once again and has brought the Giulia to the US for us to admire and be the second in the lineup from this automaker, we see the price increase that has been added to one of the trim levels. The new Giulia has stormed our stores with its sleek design, sensuous feel and quality build that make it the right choice to drive when you want something that’s perfectly built and comes from a name we’ve admired for a long time. This is a car that has everything you want for the ride.

If you’re willing to part ways with the money it takes to get behind the wheel of the Giulia Quadrifoglio model, you’ll have even more power and performance with the use of the 2.9-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that’s capable of producing 505 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. This impressive engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission to make sure you’ll experience the full thrill of driving this excellent car. For the 2018 model year, this high trim level has received a price increase in the standard form of $1,500 which seems to be a bit of a steep incline in one model year.

Pricing Explained

When you consider the 2018 model of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is priced at $75,085, an increase of $1,500 doesn’t seem like much, but most people don’t get to shop in this level of the market by throwing their money away. Thankfully, what appears to be a large increase is really only an increase of about $100. For this new model year, this trim level of the Giulia has added more standard equipment to the list to make this car more complete right out of the gate and the new price is reflective of this change.

In the past, the 15-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system and automatic emergency braking were both options for this car. The audio system would have cost an additional $900 and the braking system would represent an increase of $500. For the 2018 model year, both of these items have been added to the Quadrifoglio as standard fare, making the increase in price only $100 for this car. For an additional $100, I think we can all agree this car is worth the price and certainly appears to be one that will continue to help solidify the return of Alfa Romeo to the US.
