Nissan Just Made the Japan Police Force Cooler

The relationship between the police force and the general public is a concern in every area of the world. It’s important that private citizens trust the police officers to come to their aid and help protect them, even if that sometimes means being protected from themselves. Generally, these relationships are hard to foster and improve because many people look at the police as simply the enforcers of the law, which they are, but not as those public servants who have the difficult job of protecting and serving the general public.

Dubai Did it Right

One of the most famous police forces in the world is the Dubai police force. They aren’t famous because of their stance on hard issues or because of a lower crime rate. The fame of this police force comes from the fleet of extremely expensive and rare vehicles that are part of the patrol lineup. When an officer drives around in an exotic police car in Dubai, they often have to stop and answer questions that citizens have regarding the vehicle, which gives them a chance to improve the relationship they have with the general public.

Nissan Is Following Suit

It’s not really up to Nissan to make sure the Japanese police force has the patrol cars they need, but a resident of Tochigi donated a special car that you wouldn’t expect to be used as a police vehicle. While Dubai may have cars as impressive as a Bugatti Veyron wearing the lighted berries on top, the police force in Japan will have a Nissan GT-R to ride on the roads and chase down those who have chosen to speed and break the law when in the vicinity of this car that’s being put into service.

Recently, a special delivery ceremony was held for this vehicle and it was attended by the local officials that will have a chance to make use of the car. Nissan has fitted the car to be used as a patrol car in the region to make it easier for the officers behind the wheel to dissuade those who might think of speeding off with pictures of outrunning officers in their head. This car adds to the fleet and will become an iconic figure in the area which is lucky for those officers who are behind the wheel of this amazing vehicle.

The great Responsibility

The new R35 GT-R is the second GT-R police car that will be used in Japan with the well-known R34 model still patrolling the streets. The R34 started in 2016 and now there will be another on the roads in the area. These two Nissan GT-R models certainly offer the police force a pair of supercars that are seriously fast, but also cars that will capture the attention of the public. Officers that take these two cars out need to be prepared to be the face and voice of the police force to improve and cultivate positive relationships between the general public and the police force.
