The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the Most Exotic of Them All

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the Most Exotic of Them All

How fast do you want to drive? This is truly the only question you have to answer with the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport.

Before you answer that question, you might want to figure out whether or not you can handle the top speeds of this amazing exotic car. It does bring you a slew of control features, but your driving talents will certainly be on display.

A “Normal” Version Emerges

As you would expect from any exotic car company, the most hardcore, fastest, and most glorious version of this Bugatti arrived first. Now, we have a model that’s tamed down and dialed back to give you just a little less than what the first version gave you. This begs the question of which top speed you want to cruise along at when you take this car to the track.

A 27 MPH Difference

The first version of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport was called the 300+ and it was made to celebrate the 110thAnniversary of this amazing French automaker. The first version, as mentioned, was the hardcore model and could reach a top speed of 300 mph. Now, we have a model that takes the 300+ moniker away and it has a top speed of 273 mph. How fast do you want to drive?

Appearances Don’t Matter

If you see these two Chiron Super Sport models sitting side by side, you won’t see much difference at all. It would be extremely difficult to find the differences in just the looks of the vehicles unless you know what you’re looking for. The 300+ model does have a more aggressive front end with larger air intakes, circular hood vents, and vented front fenders, but these items don’t jump out at you.

The faster version of this car also has some differences in the rear. You’ll find a longer rear end, a revised diffuser, and stacked exhaust tips. Both cars can have the same wheels which are made of magnesium to make them extremely light and strong. Both cars look amazing and have a signature structure that makes it easy for you to see only a glimpse of this car and know what it is.

More Similarities for Your Drive

As you inspect the two models of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, you’ll find that the 300+ came to the market with an exposed carbon-fiber body with Jet Orange stripes. Without a doubt, you can order either of these versions of this car with the look you want inside and out. Bugatti will be more than happy to put the colors where you want them and give you the dynamic style you’re searching for.

Going inside, you’ll find a wonderful mixture of leather, polished aluminum, and carbon fiber to give you the cabin area that feels perfect. You’ll also see a ton of electronics that make this car easier to drive and helps you keep it under control when you’re pushing it toward that top speed at the track.

The Item You Want to Talk About

One of the first things you want to know when you see an exotic supercar is how it’s powered. Both versions of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport use a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine. This engine is essentially a pair of V8’s mashed together to make one glorious block of power.

The 300+ version gives you 1,578 horsepower and 1,180 lb.-ft. of torque. This version of the car will hit 124 mph in 5.8 seconds and 186 mph in 12.1 seconds.

When the 300+ model reaches 248 mph, it does so seven percent faster than the “normal” Chiron. The base model, if you want to call it that, is electronically limited to 273 mph while the 300+ model can reach the 300 mph mark.

Low Numbers of the Chiron

Another not-so-surprising fact about the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the fact that it is only being made in small numbers. The 300+ is only being made for thirty customers and we don’t know how many of the normal models are being built.

What we can surmise is the number will be low because Bugatti only plans to make a total of 500 Chiron models across all versions. So far, about 300 different models have been made.

The regular version of the Chiron Super Sport will cost nearly $3.9 million and the 300+ model will cost nearly $400,000 more than that. This car plays in a very special arena, but it sure is cool and it’s a lot of fun to think about rocketing one of these beauties to the top speed.
