What To Expect From the 2022 Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson is a favorite of compact crossover lovers around the world as an SUV that brings you a comprehensive package of features.

Its size falls somewhere between the full-size and sophisticated Hyundai Palisade and peppy compact Hyundai Kona. It still offers plenty of features and an unmatched style, but it was starting to feel a little outdated compared to Hyundai’s other SUV offerings.

Tucson lovers everywhere are on pins and needles waiting for the 2022 version of this modern classic to become available. Since its announcement at the 2019 LA auto show, the redesigned Hyundai Tucson is on everyone’s minds.

Here’s what you can expect from the all-new 2022 Hyundai Tucson:

Three New Powertrains

One of the most exciting elements of the redesigned Hyundai Tucson is that it will come with three distinct powertrain options: gas, hybrid, and hybrid plug-in.

The gas-powered Tucson is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that offers a solid 187 horsepower. Whether you’re cruising through the city or passing your rivals on the highway, the Tucson offers plenty of pep.

Both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid are coming loaded with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The hybrid version of this engine should get you 227-hp, while the plug-in option brings 261 hp to the table. This plug-in Tucson should get you around 32 miles of pure electric driving, thanks to a 13.8 kWh battery pack. Make sure to grab a level 2 charging station and have your Hyundai Tucson ready to go in around two hours.

Infotainment To The Max

With roughly ten trims between the three powertrains, you’ll find a plethora of technology options. For example, all models come with a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment center. Of course, you can also opt for a 10.3-inch version and really enjoy having tons of features literally at your fingertips.

Even though Hyundai hasn’t released a full list of features, here are some other standard and available features you can already count on:

  • Built-in navigation
  • SiriusXM satellite radio
  • Premium Bose stereo system
  • Built-in Wi-Fi hotspot
  • And plenty more

Safety Is Always Included

Hyundai is known for building some of the safest vehicles on the road today. The evidence is in its stellar crash test and safety ratings. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson hasn’t gone through these tests just yet, but the Tucson’s reputation sets our expectations pretty high.

We do know that the new Tucson will come standard with several powerful driver-assist features, like automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. You’ll also be able to upgrade your ride with systems like adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist.

Updated Style Helps You Stand Out

Not all of the details of the new Tucson are available. Based on the recent reimagining of the Palisade and Elantra, you should be pretty stoked to see how the Tucson improves. You’re sure to enjoy quality materials, luxury features, and plenty of comfortable space.
