2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV: Revolutionizing Electric SUVs

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is on its way to dealers, bringing with it the beginning of a new era of the Blazer with several great driving options.

Although the sportiest and most powerful version of the new Blazer EV won’t arrive until next year, when it appears, the lineup will be complete. This new electric Chevy SUV offers FWD, RWD, and AWD, has three trim levels, and has the option of three different battery packs. The Blazer EV team must believe in the power of three to have it present in so many ways.

Amazing Looks In a Sporty SUV

When Chevrolet brought back the Blazer, they changed its personality from the early days of this name. The new Blazer adopted a sporty style inspired by the Camaro muscle car. It took the auto market by storm but showed that consumers love an attractive SUV. This new electric model continues with the sporty and aggressive style while adding responsive handling, practical cargo space, and upscale interior materials. The new electric Blazer transitions from the gas-powered engines to a new era with a high-performance SS model sitting at the top.

Starting With the LT Model

One step up from the 1LT base trim level for this new Chevy EV is the 2LT model, which brings 293 miles of driving on a full charge. This requires the midsize battery and the FWD layout, but it could be the right trim or many drivers to enjoy. Switching to the AWD version reduces the driving range to 279 miles but gives you the added benefits of power to all four wheels. The Blazer EV 2LT AWD includes a 17.7-inch infotainment screen, wireless phone charging, a power tailgate, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and a heated steering wheel.

The RS Trim Sits in the Middle

When you want an electric Blazer with a sportier side, you’ll be pleased with the RS trim. The RWD version achieves 320 miles when equipped with the largest battery pack offered for the Blazer. The AWD version achieves the same 279 miles as the 2LT trim, providing power to all our wheels during our drive. This sportier model is equipped with gloss-black trim, 21-inch wheels, cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and a head-up display. This sporty version is well-equipped and could be the ideal electric SUV for your driving pleasure.

A High-Performance Delay

The Chevrolet Blazer EV SS won’t arrive until next year, but when it appears, this electric SUV will complete the Blazer lineup. This high-performance trim brings an AWD layout that delivers 564 horsepower, making it the most powerful Blazer ever made. The SS trim comes equipped with an independent suspension system, adaptive damping, and other performance items. Chevy expects this SUV to take on the likes of other performance EV SUVs such as the Tesla Model Y Performance, Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, and Kia EV6 GT. The Blazer EV SS could perform a sprint to 60 mph in less than four seconds if estimations are correct.

Which Blazer is the Most Affordable?

If you’re looking for the most affordable version of the new Blazer EV, you’ll want to drive the 1LT trim. This model is the sparsest, with only an FWD setup and 247 miles of driving range from the smallest battery pack offered in the Blazer lineup. This could be the right model for many shoppers, but we expect most will at least step up to the 2LT trim, which offers more driving range, the option of AWD, and has a few more tricks up its proverbial sleeve.

Does this SUV Qualify for the Tax Credit?

Although GM exhausted all of the previous Federal EV Tax Credits, the new system under the Inflation Reduction Act restarts this tax credit and brings new requirements for electric vehicles and PHEVs to qualify for credit. All versions of the new Chevrolet Blazer EV qualify for the full $7,500 Federal EV Tax Credit, which makes these electric SUVs a little more affordable.

Is the Blazer EV Comfortable?

Like its gas-powered alternative, the new Blazer EV is a two-row midsize SUV that provides ample cargo room behind the rear seats and comfort for up to five people. The interior styling makes this SUV sporty and fun, with the RS and SS trims adding round air vents and a two-tone black-and-red color scheme. Both rows of seats offer ample legroom for passengers, and the rear seats fold when you need to carry larger cargo.

Will you take a test drive in one of the new 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV models soon?
