Hyundai Expands the N Lineup

It shouldn’t be any surprise that Hyundai is working hard to expand the N lineup as much as possible for the exciting drive we want for the upgrades and fun that can be part of the drive. Considering the man at the helm of the N brand is none other than Albert Biermann, former head of the M Division at BMW, you can expect to see more exciting models from Hyundai going forward. The newest addition to the N lineup for Hyundai is the new Elantra GT N Line which will replace the Elantra GT Sport in the market.

The Five Tiers of Hyundai

In order to give us the ability to understand what the Hyundai team happens to offer, we have to view the lineup the way Hyundai does. There are five tiers of cars offered by this brand with the base models being the starting point. Above this is the N Line of vehicles, next is the N performance cars, and above that you’ll find the halo cars. The very top of the tree is where the motorsport models are represented to give us the pinnacle of development for the Hyundai brand.

Sensible Offerings with the Power we Want

The first model we saw offered from the Hyundai N brand is the Veloster N, which is part of the third tier of higher performance N models. The new Elantra GT N Line falls into the second tier, just above the base models of the Elantra. The new Elantra GT N Line can be the fun and active car you want to drive that has the sensibility and affordability to still be a car you can enjoy driving every day. Even though it might feel like Hyundai simply changed the name, they have upgraded the performance of this car with stiffer engine mounts and stiffer springs to offer better performance.

The Engine is the Same, but the Tires Aren’t

The new Hyundai Elantra GT N Line has been lowered in the front and rear to give you an increased level of rigidity. This car now rides on a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires that replace the old tire models. The power you’ll find for this new N Line is the same 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. This engine is attached to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission for the shifting you want to enjoy.

The Looks that You’ll Love

The new Elantra GT N Line is a car that brings you the look you’re going to love with many of the items carried from the i30 GT N which isn’t offered in the US. This car gives you a lower front splitter, a silver accented grill, black side mirrors, and a new rear bumper. Get inside and you’ll see red accent stitching, a sport instrument cluster, a leather N-brand steering wheel, leather sport seats with N badging, and an N-branded gearshift. This car is easy to love and can be the right model if you’re looking for a great Hyundai with the personality and performance you want to enjoy.
