Hyundai Offers Another N Model

Prior to the Paris Motor Show last month, Hyundai showed up with another performance model for us to admire and enjoy in the European market. This new model will carry most of the same name as one of the models that are already on the market but will be completely different. This new vehicle is the Hyundai i30 Fastback N which is the third model offered from the N sub-brand that’s offered to give us the performance and drive that we want to enjoy when it’s time to get out on the road and take a drive.

The Same but Different in this Hyundai i30 N

The first model offered from the N sub-brand of Hyundai was the i30 hatchback which has already been on sale for a while now. For this new model, much of the build is the same, and the name carries mostly the same information, but this car is a Fastback. Instead of the hatchback body, the i30 N Fastback wears a gorgeous five-door body that will make you smile when you see it. This is a car that’s built with the drive in mind and it can be the one that you can enjoy driving when you visit Europe.

The Power for the Drive

The power for the new Hyundai i30 Fastback N comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 246 horsepower. While this is an impressive number in its own right, if you add the optional Performance Package to the mix, you’ll have a car that offers you 271 ponies for the drive. The torque level offers you 260 lb.-ft. for the standard version while the upgraded model will give you a full 278 lb.-ft. of torque under the hood to make sure you’ve got the quality drive that you want to enjoy. These power numbers make it possible for this car to sprint to sixty mph in 6.4 seconds with the standard power while the upgraded version will reduce this time to 6.1 seconds for the drive.

Adding the Grin Control System to the Car

This new version of the i30 will feature the new N Grin Control system. This system is a strange name for the drive mode select system which offers you the ability to adjust and drive the way you want. This system brings dedicated buttons on the steering wheel to put the car in Eco, Normal, Sport, and N modes for the drive. There’s even a configurable N Custom mode that can be programmed to your driving pleasure.

A Fantastic Drive You Might Want to Make

While we won’t see the new Hyundai i30 N Fastback in North America, if you do make your way to Europe, you could take the same drive as the pros from Hyundai. The video below shows their ride from Rome to Paris which made its way through Denmark on some of the winding roads in the area. This new car certainly looks to be a lot of fun, and hopefully, we will see something similar in the US soon.
