The Honda Passport is for an American Crowd

When you think of things that are truly American, what comes to mind? If you’re thinking of conquering lands, making things bigger and more powerful, and enjoying the open area of this expansive nation, you’d be on the right track. While many families favor the Honda Odyssey, more are moving to an SUV. The new 2019 Honda Passport is being built to exemplify these attributes by giving us more for the ride in the midsize SUV market. This impressive SUV will be built in Alabama and has the qualities that we want for the drive that we love to execute on the roads in this country.

Rugged, Powerful, and Ready to Drive

Currently, if you want something with more size and power than the Honda CR-V, you have to step up to the three-row size of the Honda Pilot. Starting soon, that won’t be the case. The 2019 Honda Passport will slot between these two and offer us something we’ve been longing for. The Passport will offer seating for five people and the power of a standard V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower while giving you the availability of AWD. This is an SUV that’s made to give customers a more personal and more powerful experience on the road.

Honda turned to the American Team for the Design

The new Honda Passport isn’t an SUV that was designed in Japan to be built and sold in America, it was developed and designed by the Honda team in Torrance, CA and Raymond, OH. The plant in Lincoln, AL will build it, making it a truly American creation. The impressive 3.5-liter engine will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission to give you the power you want on the road and the drive you’ve been after. This SUV will be offered in Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite trims to start with.

Equipment You’ll find in the Passport

When the Passport arrives, it will offer you an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a navigation system, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, a ten-speaker premium audio system, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, an automatic tailgate, and much more. If you need to tow a load, you’ll be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds in the FWD models and up to 5,000 pounds when you have the AWD version of the Passport to drive. This is an SUV that is ready to be more capable in the midsize crossover SUV class.

Adding more to the Honda Passport

If you want to take the Honda Passport on the trails, you’ll be able to, and Honda has found a way to capitalize on the habit of off-road enthusiasts that look to customize their vehicles. There will be a range of accessories offered for the Passport to make it possible for you to add more of what you want when it’s time for the drive on the trails. As this SUV goes on sale next year, you can take a look at some of the impressive upgraded items that you add to make your Passport even more capable on the trails.
